Art Classes!

Artworks Studio

is now accepting registrations for after school art lessons for kids in grades Kindergarten through high school because… Creative Kids Make Intelligent Adults!

Over and over, research shows that kids who receive art lessons while they are young become more imaginative and creative adults. As you may know, creativity is an essential part of intelligence, and is often used as a gauge for measuring IQ.

You can't force a child to develop artistically but you can encourage their natural interests by gently guiding them to the next level and allowing them to take the next step.

Art Explorations!

Art Explorations- this signature class of Artworks Studio stresses the process not the product helping to develop improved skills in art. Students delve into fun projects in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media and metals (no cotton balls or Popsicle sticks here!) Lessons are aimed to help students develop and improve skills in art with fun introductions to line, shading, color theory, sculpture, painting and material handling for all new and repeating students. Every year is a little different with the same goal in mind: for students to have fun with art while learning the basics through many medias.

Classes are kept small so students can explore each project in depth and work at their own pace. Students are grouped according to grade currently in. Classes are offered in one hour sessions once a week and they follow the school calendar. Classes begin in August.

Tuition needs to be paid by the first of each month. I do not expect students to attend class on non school days due to weather or holidays. Each grade level has two different classes offered. I use this set up so it is easier to make up missed classes. Occasionally we will have to schedule a make up session on a Saturday morning. I will try to be as accommodating as possible for all my students.
Tuition is $40.00 per student a month.

In order for your student to get maximum use of our time together I ask that they arrive promptly and ready to jump right into class. I don’t allow kids to consume food during art since art materials and foods don’t mix well.

Supply Fees- each student is assessed a one time $30.00 supply fee payable at the time of registration. This fee will cover the cost of supplies for the entire year and reserves your child’s space in the class. Your child will be guaranteed a space in class as soon as the supply fee is received.

Instead of handing out a newsletter periodically I will email one to parents of students. Please make sure you fill out your email address on your registration form. If you don’t have email I will make sure and print you out a hard copy. I’m just trying to save a few trees.

The Art Gallery- in the spring students will have a group art show open to family, friends and the general public. The students will help plan, display and promote their show. This is all part of the process of being an artist.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
